An observation of the civilizations has rendered the relationship and politics within spaces as it affects individuals (by the share factor of being a part of the universal) the sole question for creating a society conscious of how the existence of life and things on the earth is based on sharing. It is this knowledge of constant negotiation that I hope to extensively explore in the various microcosms of human society.

It is with the positioning of the body as a political border and political landmines in constant negotiation that I approach and tends to curate works bordering on resistance, artivism, care, necrosis, selective -permeability, and symbiosis, as a way of creating a negotiation and landmines of questions for people to use in reassessing what as tend to become culture.

Assuming human societies are bordered by future anxiety and future perspectives, My work engages systems through the lens of an outsider to open up an alternative and interactive space that enables individuals to engage in sociopolitical issues. 

James is a co-curator at Tantdile Xperimenta Lab,  and works with performance art, installation, and interactive literature. James has been a resident at Maxim Gorki's 2021 Young Curator Academy, 2021 Forecast School of Thinker, Theatre Forum, Dublin.

James Notin (1995) is a Yoruba-Nigerian experimental artist and performance curator whose work investigates individuals in universal space and structure. Their works are based on the curation of public opinion and selective observation as a tool for distorting contemporary society to create a liberal space for analyzing the social structure and their politics. 

Assuming human societies are bordered by future anxiety and future perspectives, Notin engages systems through the lens of an outsider to open up an alternative and interactive space that enables individuals to engage in sociopolitical issues.

Working as a co-curator at Tantdile Xperimenta Lab, their works also expand to performance art, photography, and interactive literature.

James Notin has been/is a resident at Maxim Gorki's Young Curator Academy, TPAC Asia Discover Asia Meeting,  PerforCraze International Artist Residency, Ghana, and Forecast School of Thinker at the Theatre Forum, Dublin.
